To apply patches via the Linux

command line you need first to copy

them to the correct location.

Patch files need to be located in

/var/opt/nortel/patch

Service Packs need to be located in

/var/opt/nortel/patch/sp

Once the files are in place on the server

the command:-

pload

-this loads the patch and adds a handle

and will ask for the patch filename.

The system will respond an return the

Patch Handle allocated.

Next issue the command :-

pins <handle no.> - this

brings the patch into service. It will warn

you of any service impact at this point

and offer you the choice to quit.
